Whisper

Another fun week of Five Sentence Fiction over at http://lilliemcferrin.com.

True love knows no boundaries, so Max and Molly would say. To keep up appearances, they could never reveal their feelings, deep and completely blind to the differences between them. If their families knew, it would cause a salacious scandal circulating the entire town. So, until their love could be public, they chase each other, fighting, and acting offended by the very sight and smell of each other. In a quiet moment, though, when they thought nobody was looking, Max leaned in close to whisper his love quietly, before renewing the chase across the living room.

Ah, yes. Forbidden love. I will keep a closer eye on my dog and cat from now on. Very charming.

Typo in the first line. I think you meant “know” instead of “now.”

Wonderfully done, this made me smile broadly, it could have been any forbidden relationship, but I love that it takes place between a cat and a dog… so cleverly written!
